Doing Business With Long Branch
Overview
All businesses have an opportunity to provide goods and services to the City of Long Branch.
To become an eligible vendor, the process is broken down into three required steps for becoming certified under the State Purchasing Contract:
- All businesses must have a valid Business Registration Certificate (BRC) from the Department of the Treasury, Division of Revenue and Enterprise Services prior to conducting business in the State of New Jersey and prior to the award of a contract. To obtain your BRC, please initiate the process at the State of New Jersey, Division of Purchasing website.
- The primary means of obtaining a State contract is successfully competing for an award by responding to a Request for Proposal ("RFP") issued by the Division and accessible at the Division's website. All of the Division's RFPs are posted on the State Division of Purchase and Property website and the NJStart website. Successful bidding requires that the bidding entity carefully read the RFP and complete all of the requirements set forth in the RFP. To secure the benefits of convenience and paperless submission, many bidders opt to use NJSTART, the Division's new eProcurement system, to submit electronic proposals. Interested vendors are encouraged to register in NJSTART to receive email notifications when contracts for pertinent types of products of services are being procured.
- Businesses with a BRC and registered on NJSTART are eligible to provide goods and services to the City of Long Branch. Bidding opportunities specific to Long Branch can be found on the Purchasing Department's main web page.
Bidless opportunities are available up to the City of Long Branch's bidding threshold of $44,000. For those who would like to provide goods and services for bidless opportunities, it is recommended to schedule a short appointment with the Director of Purchasing to provide an overview of goods and services your business provides.
