If you or a friend is looking for a way to better afford the cost of groceries, NJ SNAP, New Jersey's Food Assistance program, may be able to help.
A single person that qualifies for NJ SNAP may be eligible for up to $194 a month in benefits, while a family of four could receive up to $646 per month. Click here to see if you qualify, and click here to learn more about how NJ SNAP can help your family.
This support can be life-changing for a working family, allowing parents to put food on the table for themselves and their children. Regular, healthy meals can do so much to help our kids succeed at home and at school, and we want to make sure that no New Jersey resident has to go hungry this Thanksgiving season.
If your family doesn't need food assistance, you can still help by spreading the word to other families that might be in need. Nearly 900,000 people in New Jersey lack regular access to enough affordable food for themselves and their families, and more than 260,000 children and 200,000 older residents are food insecure.
If you can, make sure your friends and neighbors know that NJ SNAP is there to make sure they have enough to eat. Spread the word on social media, and ask your friends to share the link to NJ SNAP. You can also ask your neighborhood grocer or supermarket to help get the word out about NJ SNAP in their stores, advertising and online.
If you have any questions about NJ SNAP or other services and programs, feel free to contact our office at (732) 695-3371 for more information. We are always happy to help.
