CODE BLUE- 11/12/19 at 6 PM to 11/13/19 at 10 AM & 11/13/19 6 PM to 11/14/19 8 AM


The NWS in Mount Holly has issued a weather forecast which calls for temperatures to fall within the prescribed Code Blue Alert thresholds. As such, pursuant to the law, effective 6:00 pm on Tuesday, November 12 and continuing until 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 13 and again starting 6:00 PM Wednesday, November 13 and continuing until 8:00 AM Thursday, November 14,  Code Blue Alert for Monmouth County has been issued.

Those who need access to a warming center should first contact the Long Branch Police Department. The Long Branch Police will then coordinate assistance with the Monmouth County Office of Emergency Management (OEM). Transportation will be provided to AND from the warming center for those who need it. Please call LBPD 732-222-1000 and transportation will be coordinated. In addition, residents are being asked to check on elderly neighbors and to limit the outdoor activity of pets. If an individual must be outdoors, avoid over exertion, keep dry and wear several layers of loose-fitting clothes. While traveling, make sure that someone knows your route and schedule and have a winter survival kit, including a blanket, in your vehicle.

The county’s community partners include the Jersey Shore Rescue Mission of Asbury Park,  Trinity Episcopal Church and the Pilgrim Baptist Church in Red Bank.
